JEFFREY DALE WHEELER CLASS OF 1975 Services for Jeffrey Dale Wheeler, 51, of Gainesville were set for 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with Dr. Mark Denison officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville. Mr. Wheeler died April 24, 2008. He was born Oct. 1, 1956, in Gainesville to Lacy and Frances Richter Wheeler. He attended Gainesville public schools and North Central Texas College. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving as a corpsman. He was employed by Vance International, Executive Protective Agent, the Texas Youth Commission as juvenile correctional officer for 14 years, and 2 years by FEMA, Department of Homeland Security. Survivors include his daughter, Sarah Lacy Wheeler of Gainesville; parents, Lacy and Frances Wheeler of Gainesville; sisters and brother-in-law, Lynne and Mike Compton of Gainesville and Jeri Mullins of Plano; eight cousins; three nieces; and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bryan Wheeler; and brother-in-law, Mark Mullins. Pallbearers are Joe Bob Jones, Craig Claxton, Jim Wicker, Cody and Matt Compton, Zach Mullins, Jerrod Campbell and James McNally. |

JOHN WICKER CLASS OF 1965 Gainesville resident John Wicker passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 at Denton Regional Hospital at the age of sixty-five. John was born May 16, 1947 in Gainesville, Texas to John Curry Wicker Sr. and Doris Laverne (Buffington) Wicker. He was a Gainesville High School graduate, attended Texas A&M University and received an Associate's Degree from Cooke County Junior College. John was Vice President of Boss Glove Manufacturing for thirteen years and also worked for Nocona, Justin and Tony Lama Boot Company. He loved football and auctions and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27th at Meador-Clement-Keel Chapel with Dr. Bennie Slack Church, pastor of First Baptist Church Montague officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Wicker, Ryan Wicker, Ryan William Baker. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home. MARY ANN WIESE SCHNEIDER July 4, 1948-September 18, 2010 CLASS OF 1966 Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Ann Schneider, 62, is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Father Jim Pemberton officiating. Interment will follow at New Rest Haven Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Clement-Keel Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Mike Robertson, Bobby Jobe, Chris Nance, John Moore, Tony Davis and Jack Wiese. Leonard Wiese will serve as an honorary bearer. A rosary will be held at Clement-Keel Funeral Home Tuesday evening, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m., followed by a family visitation. Mrs. Schneider passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 in Gainesville. She was born July 4, 1948 in Gainesville to Paul and Frances June (McClendon) Wiese. Mary Ann married Bobby Schneider Sept. 8, 1967 in Gainesville. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Survivors of Mary Ann Schneider include her husband, Bobby Schneider of Gainesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and Kevin Wheeler of Gainesville and Shelley and Greg Zimmerer of Muenster; sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Robert Strait and their daughter, Leslie Strait of Gainesville; grandchildren, Garrett Wheeler, Alexis Wheeler, Elizabeth Zimmerer and Victoria Zimmerer; brothers-in-law, Virgie Schneider of Gainesville and Jim Schneider of Gainesville; sister-in-law, Betty Wright and husband Harvey of The Colony and several nieces and nephews. MARION "WITT" SMITH CLASS OF 1947 Services for Marion Witt Smith, 85, of Temple will be 11 a.m. Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. Burial will be 4 p.m. Friday in Ratliff-Witt Cemetery in Gainesville. Mrs. Smith died Tuesday, Jan. 24, at a local care center. She was born Sept. 4, 1931, in Gainesville to William and Kate Witt. In May of 1951 she married Norris Smith in Abilene. She was a school teacher for more than 30 years with Stamford ISD, spending the majority of her tenure at Reynold’s Elementary School. She was a member of the Orient Street Church of Christ in Stamford and Western Hills Church of Christ in Temple. She volunteered at Scott & White and the Ronald McDonald House in Temple. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris in 1989; and a grandchild. Survivors include two sons, Mark of Irving and Lane of Temple; two brothers, Jerry Witt of Baytown and Paul Witt of Tyler; two sisters, Joyce Wharton of Kingston, Ark., and Billie Marie Banks of Gainesville; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. MICHAEL LYNN WHITE February 15, 1956 - March 15, 2018 CLASS OF 1974 Michael Lynn White, 62-year-old Marietta, OK resident, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at his residence. No services are planned at this time. Mr. White was born February 15, 1956 in Gainesville, TX to Wayne Carol White and Rosia Nell Parkhill-White. He grew up and attended schools in Gainesville and later served his country in the United States Navy. After his service with the Navy, Mr. White worked as a deck hand in the oil fields. He loved cooking and building things. Mr. White also made and refurbished jewelry and collected various Coke memorabilia, signs, and other knickknacks. He loved fishing and playing games, but what gave him the most joy in life was spending time with his family. He was loved by many and touched the hearts of all he met. Mr. White is preceded in death by his father; by two brothers, Darril White and Randolph White; and by grandparents, Albert and Iula Parkhill and Katie and Henry White. Survivors include his mother, Rosia Atherton of Gainesville; two sons, Jason White and wife Heather of Gainesville, and Christopher White and wife Danielle of Gainesville; a daughter, Misty Porter and husband Merle of Marietta, OK; a brother, Wayne White, Jr. of Vienna, GA; two sisters, Cheryl Ann Small and husband Ken of Neighborville, IL and Nicole Anglin of Richardson, TX; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. |

Her Parents were Lester Valentine Whitley & Ola Mae Smith who lived in Gainesville until they passed away. She married the love of her life Roy Edward Lewis from Gainesville. After Betty was married she became a military wife and they moved around many times but finally settled back to Gainesville at moss Lake. Betty liked to go on vacations and travel around the United states and see all the wonders it has to offer. She loved sewing, quilting, reading, going to movies, puzzles and her many cats & 2 dogs. She is survived by 3 daughters, Shelly Farrell and her husband Robby of Nevada Texas. Cheryl Bostick and her husband Randy of Gainesville, Texas. Constance Stone and her husband Duane of Justin, Texas. She has 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She requested that she be Cremated and her ashes be mixed with her husband's ashes and be spread over a special place to both of them.
