Beth went to be with the Lord on Oct. 5, 2009 at Presbyterian Hospital in Denton. Beth Kuykendall was born Oct. 12, 1955 in Denton to Kenneth and Doris Fomby. She graduated from Gainesville High School in 1976. Beth enjoyed caring for her family, sewing, singing and trips to Six Flags with her sister, Jan Reiter. She was a founding member of New Beginnings Fellowship Church. Beth was active in church and always there to lend a hand with school activities and anything her family needed. She is survived by her husband, Charley Kuykendall of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Tonja and Brian Petree of Bossier City, La.; daughter, Sarah Merrick of Gainesville; grandsons, Andrew Petree of Bossier City, La. and Isaac Green of Phoenix, Ariz. and step-daughter, Erica Green of Phoenix, Ariz. She is also survived by her father, Kenneth Fomby of Gainesville; sister, Gail Brandt of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Teresa Fomby of Gainesville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Fomby; sister, Jan Reiter and brothers-in-law, Bill Reiter and Tommy Brandt. Pallbearers will be Robert Tamplin, Michael Tamplin, Brian Petree, John Self, Daniel Self, and Billy Oswalt. He was born April 1, 1957, in Gainesville to Roy and Betty (Meissner) Fleenor. He was of the Methodist faith and worked in Dallas with the Southwest Organ Transplant Team. PFC JOSHUA PAUL “JOSH” FARR CLASS OF 2006 FORT HUACHUA, Ariz. — Services for PFC Joshua Paul “Josh” Farr, 18, of Fort Huachuca, Sierra Vista, Ariz., formerly of Gainesville, are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Clement-Keel Chapel in Gainesville with Pastor Larry Eberhart of Family Life Church officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Clement-Keel Funeral Home of Gainesville. PFC Farr died May 19, 2007, in Tucson, Ariz. He was born June 2, 1988, in Denton to Albert and Mary Farr. He graduated from Gainesville High School with the Class of 2006. He was serving in the United States Army, stationed in Fort Huachuca, Ariz. He had worked at Pizza Hut in Gainesville and also at WinStar Casino in Oklahoma. Survivors include his parents, Albert and Mary Farr of Gainesville; great-grandfather, Wayne E. Hill of Topeka, Kan.; sister and brother-in-law, Loren and Kenny Wages of Gainesville; one nephew; several cousins; and several aunts and uncles. Pallbearers will be the Army Honor Guard. Benita was born May 26, 1961 in Oklahoma City, OK. She passed away April 14, 2013 in Gainesville. Benita graduated from Gainesville High School in 1981. She loved being outside and visiting all of her neighbors. Benita was known as the “neighborhood leaf-raker.” Intrigued by bells, Benita had an extensive collection that she had accumulated over her lifetime. Those closest to her would frequently receive hand written cards and paintings. Benita annually competed in the Cooke County Special Olympics. She was very successful in competition, particularly in her favorite events, the shot put and 50 meter walk. Benita competed just last week in the 2013 Special Olympics. Above all, Benita treasured the time she spent with her family. Survivors include: parents, Fran and LeRoy Faltermier of Gainesville; daughter, Sara Beth Faltermier of Gainesville; sister, Rebecca Riddels and husband, Chris of Gainesville; niece, Kaitlyn Riddels; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. BONNIE FARR MOORE CLASS OF 1947 Bonnie Farr Moore passed away on September 10, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, TX. She was born to O.G. (Hart) and Reba Farr in Gainesville, TX, on March 27, 2013. She was married to Joe Moore and to that union three children were born: Susan, Scott and Steven Moore. Bonnie graduated from Gainesville High School and was a long time member of the First Baptist Church. She was very involved with church activities including Sunday School, Training Union and Vacation Bible School. She also participated and helped with her children’s school and extracurricular activities whether it be PTA, scouts, room mother, sports, drill team, etc. Bonnie owned and managed The Tree House, a children’s boutique and specialty store, for almost twenty years. Bonnie was an amazing mother and friend and we all loved her so much. She had such a great personality and always had a smile. Her love of gardening, flowers, cooking and entertaining were a passion and she did it all with such style and beauty. Bonnie was preceded in death by her brother, Don Farr, her parents O.G. (Hart) and Reba Farr and her former husband, Joe Moore. She is survived by her 3 children and their spouses: Susan Moore Gentry and Jerry Gentry of Dallas, TX; Scott Moore and Paula Moore of Durant, OK; Steve Moore and Kelli Moore of Norman, OK; 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. Other family members include Ella Ruth Kennedy Maddox, Jim and Tommy Kennedy and Jane Farr Stewart. She also had numerous special friends. Pall bearers are A.J. Mrs. Followill passed away November 17, 2017 in Gainesville. Eva was born February 24, 1933 in Anson, TX to William Arthur and Neely Elizabeth (Johnson) Mize. She married Kenneth Followill in June 1951 in Anson. Mrs. Followill attended Cooke County College and North Texas State University, earning her Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s Degrees. She was an educator for Callisburg and Gainesville ISDs, teaching at Elementary and Middle School levels. Mrs. Followill was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a charter member of Temple Baptist Church. She spent her leisure time playing Bridge and fishing. A thoughtful hostess, Mrs. Followill loved to host parties and gatherings, especially for her family. Her memory will be treasured by those that loved her. Survivors include: daughter Donna Denel Mask and husband Mark of Gainesville; granddaughter Brandi Barnett and husband Evan of Fulshear; granddaughter Emily Ann McNairn of Ardmore, OK; great- grandchildren: Bailey and Avery; friend Christie Hall and husband David of Gainesville; friend John Gray of Gainesville; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. BILLY P. FARR March 12, 1934-November 3, 2017 CLASS OF 1952 Billy P. Farr, 83, of Soper, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord November 3, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Farr was the son of Melvin Sr. and Inez Velma (Hawkins) Farr. Arrangements were under the direction of PraterLampton-Mills and Coffey Funeral Home, Hugo, OK. Family received friends Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home, also from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service to celebrate his life at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Hugo, OK with Pastor Doug McClure and Pastor Dean Young officiating. Burial followed at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hugo OK. Bill was born March 12, 1934, reared near the Dye Community in Cooke County Texas, which is six miles southeast of Gainesville Texas. Bill graduated from Gainesville High School in 1952 and then attended and graduated from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, TX. While attending Hardin Simmons, Bill played in the Famous Cowboy Band and was honored to play in President Dwight D. Eisenhower inauguration parade. Bill was attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary when his brother was killed in a farm accident. He returned home to manage the family farm. Bill sold coastal Bermuda grass roots to the Noble Foundation and many people in multiple states. He was awarded Outstanding Comeback Farmer by the Upper Elm - Red Soil & Water Conservation District (UERSWCD) in 1966, Star Young Farmer, Area V, 1967-1968, Distinguished Service Award, Director Cooke County Electric Cooperative Association, 1976-1987 and Outstanding Conservation Farmer by the Upper Elm - Red Soil & Water Conservation District in 1986. Billy served as Cooke County Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service board member for several years. Bill worked as a farmer (peanuts and hay) and rancher his whole life. When he wasn’t working or spending time with his family, Bill enjoyed hunting and going to Colorado with family and friends. Serving and loving the Lord was always first and foremost in his life; along with his deep love for his family. Bill is survived by the love of his life whom he was married to for over 61 years, Mergie Lee(Landgraf) Farr, of Soper, OK; three daughters Ramona Tyler and husband Rod of Gainesville,TX; Brenda Amyx and husband Curtis of Sanger, TX;Phyllis Coffey and husband Jimmie Dean of Bloomington,IN, one son Calvin Farr and wife Deanna of Madill, OK and Gene Thompson of Denison, TX and Bary Clower of Santo, TX who are thought of and loved like sons; three grandchildren Dalinda Damm and husband Phil of Pinedale, WY, Christa Barlow and husband Jarrod of Stillwater, OK, Cody Coffey and fi ancé Emily Sims of Bloomington, IN and Lindsey Belie who he thought of as a granddaughter; three great-grandsons Landon Barlow and Morgan & Reid Damm. He is also survived by two nephews, Michael Northrop of Seattle, WA and Charles Northrop and wife Toni of Rio Linda, CA. Mr. Fitts passed away June 27, 2018 in Gainesville. Kenny was born October 18, 1945 in Gainesville to McLooney (Mac) and Gladys Lucille (Mackey) Fitts. He was a member of the 1964 graduating class of Gainesville High School. To fulfill his desire to help people, Mr. Fitts pursued a career in law enforcement, serving with the Cooke County Sheriff’s Department and Gainesville Police Department. He also enjoyed operating his own landscaping company for many years. Most recently, he retired from the City of Gainesville in 2015. Mr. Fitts married Benelle Dishman Burton on November 30, 1973 in Gainesville. They enjoyed traveling, taking their fifth-wheel as far as Alaska. They especially enjoyed Hawaii and going on cruises. Mr. Fitts was the true definition of a family man. He was a proud father and grandfather, spending as much time as he could with his family. Survivors include: wife Benelle Fitts of Gainesville; son Robin Fitts and wife Molly of Snyder; daughter-in-law Lisa McDougald and husband Mike of Iola; and grandchildren: Catherine Burton McDougald, Jenna McDougald, and Samantha Fitts.
