Funeral services for Kevrick Deandra Jackson-Hubbard, 21, are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 at
First Baptist Church in Gainesville with Pastor Sheldon Ballatt of St. James CME Church officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at Clement-Keel Funeral Home.

Mr. Jackson-Hubbard died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011.

Kevrick was born in Gainesville on Jan. 30, 1990, the son of Wendy Jackson and Anthony Hubbard. He was a
2008 Gainesville High School graduate. Kevrick was the 2007-2008 power lifting district champion. In
addition to power lifting, he enjoyed football, baseball, basketball and attending church.
He loved being around his friends and family. Kevrick was a member of the Key Club and coached Boys Club
football. He was an employee of MFG Manufacturing.

Kevrick Jackson-Hubbard is survived by his mother, Wendy Jackson of Lewisville; father, Anthony Hubbard
of Gainesville; step-father, Louis Clark, Jr. of Denison; grandparents, Wilmer Jackson and Floyd Jackson of
Gainesville, Rita Hubbard of Gainesville and Billy Joe Douglas of Ardmore, Okla; godparents, Lilton and
Stephanie Lawson; brother, Zachary Moreno of Sherman; brother, Domanick Hubbard of Gainesville; sister,
Brianna Hubbard of Sherman; sister, Adriann Hubbard of Gainesville; brother, Caleb Roberts Hubbard of
Gainesville; niece, Aliyah Hubbard of Sherman and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services for Telica Ann Perry, 48, are set for 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral
Home with Rev. Brent Jones and Rev. Arthur Green officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. Perry died Sept. 13, 2009 at her home.

She was born in Gainesville on July 13, 1961 to Lewis and Frances Beaver Hyde.
Survivors include Kelly Perry, her husband of 27 years, and her two children Luke and Kelsey Perry of Krum,
her mother Frances Hyde of Burleson, her sisters and brothers-in-law Tammie and Gregg Hogan of
Arlington, Gina and Rev. Brent Jones of Keller, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Telica was preceded in death by her father Lewis Hyde, her half-sister Marion Kaye Rosenthal, and her
father-in-law Joe B. Perry.
A visitation is planned for 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept.16 at the funeral home.

Pall bearers will be David Law, Billy Johnson, Tim Fisher, Darrell Mayo, Randel Beaver, and Jeremy Wilhoit.
Honorary pall bearer will be Mike Hyde.

Jerry Murrell Hughes, 36, of Valley View, died Saturday in Oklahoma Memorial Hospital in Oklahoma City,
where he had been in critical condition for the past six days.
He was swimming in the Turner Falls Park on Labor Day and was later found unconscious and his lungs filled
with water. He was rushed to the hospital where he remained on a respirator until his death.

He was born in Gainesville November 19, 1943 and moved back to this area in 1979 from Fort Worth. He
married Pam Crow January 11, 1966 in Old Mexico and was a machinist at Weber Aircraft.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Vernie Keel Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Ralph Hogue and the
Rev. Clinton Wooten will officate, followed by burial in Fairview Cemetery.

Survivors are his wife; Son, Jerry M. Jr., Daughter, Sherri Melissa, his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Hughes of
Gainesville and Billie Haugh of Arlington; three brothers, one sister.

Dr. Douglas Lee Hurley, 63, died June 13, 2008, after a brief illness. Doug was born in Gainesville, Texas, on
September 20, 1944. On August 13, 1966, he married Marilynn McKinzie, and in 1971 they had one
daughter, Jennifer Lynn Hurley.

Doug graduated as valedictorian of Gainesville High School in 1962 and received an A.B. in English from Yale
University, Davenport College in 1966. He earned his M.D. in 1970 from The Johns Hopkins University School
of Medicine, where he also completed his medical internship and residency. He completed an externship at
Guy’s Hospital in London, England, in 1968 and was Assistant Resident at Johns Hopkins in 1971 and 1972.
From 1972 to 1975, he was a Fellow in Infectious Disease at the National Institutes of Allergy and
Infectious Disease in Bethesda, Maryland, where he specialized in fungal infections.

He joined the staff of Scott & White Clinic and Hospital in 1975, and practiced there for thirty-three years.
He was Director of the Division of Infectious Disease from 1981 to 1995. He was active in numerous
medical associations, including the AIDS Steering Committee of the Texas Hospital Association, the Texas
Medical Association, the Society of Medical College Directors of Continuing Education, the Society of
Hospital Epidemiologists, the American Society of Microbiology, and the Infectious Disease Society of
America. His most active professional association was with the Texas Infectious Disease Society, which he
served as Committee Chairman (1981-1983), Executive Council member (1984-1986), and President
(1987). He conducted clinical research, publishing papers in numerous medical journals throughout his
career.
The part of his career he loved the most was teaching at Texas A&M; University School of Medicine from
1977 to 2008, first as a Lecturer and eventually as Professor of Medicine. He received the “Best Clinical
Physician and Teacher in Medicine” award in 1987-1988 and 2006-2007.
Doug was an active patron of and participant in the cultural life of Temple. As a frequent actor with the
Temple Civic Theatre, he appeared in several productions, including “Stalag 17’’ and “A Funny Thing
Happened on the Way to the Forum”. In the late 1970s, he was president of the Central Texas Orchestral
Society. He sang with the Temple Civic Chorus and the Second Sunday Supplement. As President of the
Temple Civic Chorus, Doug participated in commissioning and singing “For All Mankind”, an Oratorio in honor
of the tenth anniversary of man’s first landing on the moon, performed at the Cultural Activities Center in
1979. In 1998, he sang the Mozart Requiem with the Texas Festival Chorus at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Doug was one of the first male members of the Music Club of Temple. He endowed numerous music
scholarships at Temple College, refinished the Temple Civic Theatre piano, and refurbished the 1924 Temple
College Steinway. As an active supporter of the annual Rank Amateur night, Doug was one of the original
cheerleaders. One of his proudest accomplishments in life was that he succeeded in getting the Temple
Piano Ensemble, which he conducted for more than two decades, to watch the conductor close to a third of
the time.

Doug is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Hurley, of Philadelphia. Marilynn Hurley died in a car accident in
1973.

Doug was an avid reader and loyal supporter of the Temple Public Library. Memorial donations to the

Mrs. Hubbard died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013.

She was born Jan. 16, 1954, in Gainesville.

Mrs. Ruth Bennett died Sunday, April 6, 2014
Mrs. Bennett was born June 7, 1939 in Gainesville to Scott and Lilly Insel.

She was preceded in her death by her loving husband of 57 years, Clyde
Bennett.

Survivors include her children:  David and Karla Bennett, Andy and Kathy
Barnes, and Steve & DeAnn Bennett; grandchildren:  Chris and Jennifer
Bennett, Bryce Bennett, Stephen and Britney Barnes, Stuart Barnes,
Shaun Bennett, and Braeden Bennett; great-grandchildren:  Blake and
Courtney (Bennett) Hunter, Taylor, Seth and Jacob Bennett.  Mrs.
Bennett was anticipating the arrival of  her first great-great-grandchild,
Greyson Laine Hunter in May.  She is also survived by her one sister
Pauline Craddock; one sister-in-law Sylvia Bennett of Gainesville; her
nephew Jim Wilson and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her siblings
William Insel, James ”Hank” Insel and Katherine Geisinger.

Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman. He was born Aug. 3, 1933, in Gainesville to George Franklin and
Lottie Hazel Strickland Isaacs. On July 28, 1958, he married Marilyn Kay Miller in Decatur. On Feb. 14, 1990,
he married Sarah Dollar in Austin. Homer Isaacs was a graduate of Gainesville High School and served in the
United States Navy from June 1953 until June 1957. He retired from Rockwell Internation in 1989 and
worked for the Santa Fe Railroad following his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in
Whitesboro. He will be missed by his dog, Candy. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Isaacs of Whitesboro
former wife, Marilyn Isaacs of Leonard son, Randall Dean Isaacs of The Colony daughter, Dea-Lynn Isaacs

tubing on his boat.

Rodney is survived by his wife Kelly Hughes, daughter Amy Hamilton and her husband Chris, grandchildren

Visitation for Donald Ray Hurst, 80, of Gainesville, will be held from 2-3:30 PM Sunday August 21, 2016 at

Donald Ray Hurst, passed away August 10, 2016 at his residence in Gainesville. He was born November 7,
1935 in Gainesville Texas, to Archie and Noble Hurst.
Donald was a graduate of Gainesville High School, Class of 1955. After High School, Donald was a member
of the National Guard from 1955-1961. Donald worked as a TV Repairman and HVAC Repairman from 61-78
until he went to work as a Journeyman at Weber Aircraft where he was employed from 1978 until his
retirement in 1996.
Donald was an avid football fan and loved to watch football with anyone who was a diehard fan like himself.
He also loved watching Westerns as well as The People’s Court where Judge Judy was his favorite.
Survivors include: son Steven Ray Hurst and wife Jeannie of Whitesboro; son Charles W. Hurst and Maria
Torres of Denton; daughter Kelly Ann Cain and husband Clint of Gainesville; son Scott Allen Hurst and wife
Roxanne of San Antonio; daughter-in-law Tracey Greenwald of Ohio; grandchildren: Jarren, Justin, Dillon,
